Feel that breeze? Much like the descending leaves, we float into Fall.
Here at PrintWorks, nothing says Fall quite like crisp, refreshing apples. For September, we wish to share our recipe for caramel apples with the PrintWorks community!
Caramel apples came into prominence many years after the candy apple, in the 1950’s. Dan Walker, a Kraft Foods employee, discovered the recipe while experimenting with excess caramels from Halloween. He simply melted them down, added apples, and the rest is history.
For the first decade of their inception, caramel apples were handmade. In 1960, Chicago’s Vito Raimondi patented the first automated caramel apple machine.
Take a gander at our take on this classic! We’ve included some variations as well.
